About us

Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd is one of the biggest media companies in Ghana, broadcasting from 99.5MHz in Accra and founded in 2020. Asaase Kumasi launched in June 2021, broadcasting on 98.5.

Asaase has further sister stations in Asaase 99.7 Tamale, Asaase 100.3 Cape Coast and AsaasePa 107.3 in Accra. Our parent group is Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd.

The station also broadcasts through affiliates in Bawku, Bimbilla, Dzodze, Gushegu, Ho, Takoradi, Tarkwa and Walewale, as well as online to a diasporan and global audience.

We describe ourselves as “The Voice of Our Land”. Our motto speaks to our mandate to be the most trusted source of credible information on a wide range of subjects shaping people’s lives – from business, politics and governance to health, entertainment and sports. Asaase provides listeners with objective news, pertinent facts and expert analysis to make critical decisions.

Asaase 99.7 Tamale was previously Radio 123 Tamale. Asaase Tamale is one of the most trusted voices in Tamale, producing independent, fearless, quality journalism in English, Dagbani and Hausa.

Asaase 98.5 Kumasi launched officially on 14 June 2021. We are a community-focused station bringing listeners the best in news, current affairs, social issues and culture from the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono and Bono East Regions.

Asaase Cape Coast burst on to the Oguaa scene on 14 June 2022 and is already seen as the leading radio station in the city.

Where can I find your offices?

Asaase is sited in four regions. Our main office is in Cantonments, Accra. Other branches are in Kumasi (Ashanti Region), Cape Coast (Central Region) and Tamale (Northern Region).

What is the frequency for Asaase?

In Accra our frequency is 99.5MHz. In Kumasi we are on 98.5. In Tamale tune in to 99.7. In Cape Coast we are on 100.3. And our Twi-language station in Greater Accra, AsaasePa, is on 107.3.

Do you have a TV station?

Not for now but we deliver visual radio and most of our content streams live at facebook.com/asaase99.5.

Who owns Asaase?

Asaase is owned by a group of private shareholders.

Is Asaase an NPP radio station?

Asaase is not owned by the New Patriotic Party. This is evident in our content, which focuses on unbiased and professionally presented news, business, current affairs, culture, health, entertainment and sports.

Why is it that you are called Asaase but your presenters speak English?

We are called Asaase because we believe we are the voice of our land. We broadcast mainly in English but some of our branches air programmes in local languages. And AsaasePa, our youngest station, broadcasts from Accra in Twi.

Do you have branches other than the one in Accra?

Yes, we do. Our regional branches are in Cape Coast, Kumasi and Tamale.

We also have affiliates in Bawku (Bawku FM: 101.5), Bimbilla (Bead FM: 99.9), Dzodze (Nyatefe FM: 94.5), Gushegu (Somuaa FM: 89.9), Ho (Stone City Radio: 90.7), Takoradi (Azay FM: 89.1). Tarkwa (Mining City Radio: 89.5) and Walewale (Wale FM: 106.9).
