Nana Adjoa Hackman is the managing partner and co-founder of Africa Legal Associates, a Ghana-based, pan-African corporate law firm. She has over 18 years of legal and advisory experience and specialises in corporate governance, banking and petroleum law.
She has provided advice to multinational firms operating across Africa. Previously head of legal for United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Ltd, she was a member of the board of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation until January 2021. Ms Hackman was called to the Ghana Bar in 2003 and began private practice at Kudjawu & Co, a leading law firm in Ghana. She holds an LLM (with distinction) from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee.
In 2020 she was awarded an EMBA scholarship by Imperial College Business School in partnership with the 30% Club, a campaign that aims to secure gender balance in boardrooms across the world. She sits on the global advisory board of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
