On 20 January 2022 a lorry carrying explosives detonated on the highway running past Apiate, a village in the Western Region. Asaase’s newsroom and reporters in the field snapped into action. Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd also stepped in to support the relief effort, donating food and toiletries to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for onward distribution to survivors of the disaster.
